Hey guys, I hope you all have had a great weekend. I went with my friends Kiley and Russell to go backpacking/camping at Montgomery Bell State Park near Dickson, TN. The low was 24. We’re alive, and we had a good time.

Getting back into the office today I found a ton of great posts that I recommend. Here they are with some brief commentary:

  1. Does Jesus Really Hate Religion? You might have seen the spoken word video of the guy saying basically that Jesus hates religion. This is a semantics issue, but I appreciate Kevin DeYoung’s response to the video, where he notes how it’s not true that Jesus hates religion. I think many use religion to mean “moralism” or “self-justification,” or as Matt Chandler calls it, “behavior modification” (which is what I think my friend Chris meant at his post here at FWB21).
  2. Get John Piper’s “Bloodlines” for Free! It’s a pdf, but convert that puppy to your pdf and check it out. I’m thinking about using this as one of the giveaways for the FWB21 Panel this July, which should clue you in on the topic.
  3. Ever wonder what happened to Ted Williams, the formerly homeless man with the golden voice? Here’s a video from ET.
  4. Lastly, here’s a post for any older pastors wanting to influence us younger folk with some advice from D.A. Carson. I highly recommend this.

Have a great week, and if you find anything that should be included in a post like this, let me know via @JacobRiggs.
